Run for Life 5K

This past weekend, Mom came up and to join me for the 16th annual Run for Life 5k - a race hosted by one of UVA's sororities to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. It was a great event! We picked up our race info on Friday and seeing those girls reminded me of the ole MC days - gosh I miss those days sometimes! They were very organized in hosting the event and although the turn out was small (around 800 participants), over $22K was raised - awesome! A pre-race warm up was held - really entertaining. Some college guys (fraternity boys?) came dressed for the race - in costume!! Hilarious!!! For a quick view of the news reel, click here. If you watch closely, you can see Mom durning the warm up portion of the video - toward the back of the group, wearing white short sleeved shirt over a black turtleneck. I'm next to her, but you can't see me :) It was a great event and I really have to hand it to the Zeta Tau Alpha women - they rock!

PS - thanks for the well wishes - cold is almost completely gone :)
