What's Happenin'?!

Hello to all - I owe everyone an apology for not updating this blog! I have some video bits from my camera I have tried to download, but with no such luck. I think it has something to do with the not-so-great internet connection we have out in the sticks! I will attempt again this week. I also have some new pictures to download as well!

As for me, I'm finally in my last class of the MBA program. We meet through May 13th and then I will be DONE! Four of the six members in my original class will graduate on May 3rd. Myself and one other person will have to wait until December to walk because we each had a class to make up (we got started in the program a bit later than the others). Anyway, the light is shining bright at the end of the tunnel!

I have some pictures from the house of our new tilled garden...uh, minus the veggies. Jason tilled it a few weeks ago, but we're waiting to plant. Here, they recommend waiting until mid May to get past any chance of frost. We may go ahead and plant some things on Sunday though - we are anxious to get started! I also have some great footage of our geese landing in the pond. It's a little shaky, thanks to my awesome camera skillz, but it's pretty neat. In another video I got footage of a sneaky squirrel that keeps eating through the seed in a large bird feeder I have. While I was catching that rascal on camera, two visiting geese landed in the pond, but "Richard" and "Susan" (our geese) literally scared them off! I can't wait to share them with you!

Last week Jason bought a really nice camera (with stabilization features thank goodness) and we took it to the beach this past weekend. We went to VA beach since it was close and stayed right on the ocean. It felt so good to soak in the sunlight!

The kids got their report cards a week or two ago - all A's for one of them and all A's and one B for the other! They're doing great! We are so proud of them! Then, Dalton twisted his ankle at school. The doc put it in a "boot" and gave him crutches! We thought it was a bit of overkill because he didn't seem to be in much pain, but we have since learned he did tear a tendon. All you kids be careful out there on the playground!!

My brother and his girlfriend are doing well in NY city and have decided to take about a year and travel to Senegal to teach at a private school! They are always on the go! They each have about a year before they could start thier new graduate school programs (Physical Therapy and Law) so they figured they would get out of the US for a while! What an amazing experience that will be. I believe they will have a furnished apartment provided for them and get to teach in a private school (English speaking). Much different from the Peace Corps experience!

Currently they are on Spring Break (they are both teahcers in the Bronx) so they have flown to CA to visit some of her family and will be heading to Raleigh on Wednesday. Jason and I are also going down on Wednesday to stay just a few days. We have a few things to help Mom with, including erecting her mailbox that we (well, Jason did most of the welding) made for her over Christmas. Many of you will be thrilled that we will paint it....WOLFPACK RED!!! Saturday we will head to South Boston for a race.

I will see a few of you this week - can't wait! As for the rest of you out there, I hope all is well! Take care and write when you can!

Much love,
CharGrill
