I had my doc visit last Friday and everything continues to "look good" per the doctor. In the next couple of weeks I have to go in for the infamous sugar test. I've heard it's not that bad and if I happen to fail the first one, I might still pass the second (although I hope I don't have to go back for the second test - it sounds way worse). Basically I drink something that tastes like a flat orange soda within 5 minutes, then they take my blood about an hour later to make sure I am processing the sugar properly. If I don't pass, I go back for another grueling test later, and have to drink a larger dose of the sugary stuff (does not sound like fun). The nurse advised that I go early in the morning on a light breakfast.
The stats:
How far along: Today - 25 weeks and 4 days
Size of baby: She will double in weight by the end of the month. Hope I don't also double in weight.
Weight gain/loss: 11 lbs...yep.
Clothes: Can still squeeze into a few non-maternity things, but definitely like the full belly cover up maternity pants. Much more comfy than anything else I have.
Movement: She moved around alot on my 24th week day (3/19)...must have been having a party in my belly. Movement comes and goes during the day. I like feeling her at night, just before I go to bed. Jason talks into my belly button as if it's a microphone.
Sleep: Better this week. I've propped my pillows up more so I'm putting less weight on my hip bones (these hurt sometimes, guess they are widening). Still toss and turn a little bit, but getting more out of the hours I am asleep.
Cravings/aversions: Crave ice cream for dessert. Still have no desire for tuna out of a pouch (too bad, it would be good protein). Still eating lots of fruit during the day, love a PB&J with milk for lunch.
Symptoms: Woke up with heartburn last night and had another attack this morning. A couple of Tums takes care of it, but I hope this doesn't become the daily norm. No leg cramps this past week. Having some trouble bending over. For the most part, still doing every day activities - laundry, washing dishes, cleaning up - the usual!
What else? We took a truckload to GoodWill this past weekened and there might be another to follow! We have some re-arragning to do to accommodate our sweetie. Still in the process of registering. I'm also taking a water aerobics class twice a week, which is a lot of fun and feels good. Three of us are due at different times in July - what are the odds?!
Please continue to think good thoughts for us and prayers are welcomed. I have my days of doubt and worry, but it's nice to know others have felt the same.
Take care all, feel free to write or send an email with any advice -- all is welcome.
Love,
Charlotte
