Happy New Year....a month late!!!

So I wanted to begin the new year by actually blogging on time....
Well, it's obvious THAT didn't happen! So here is our very late New Year's picture - outside of the Sheetz. We purchased beer and doughnuts!

It was a nice New Year's. We got all fancied up and went out to our local hibachi Japanese steakhouse. Ummm....good! Then made the pit stop at Sheetz and headed home!

We got some snow last night.....pretty!

Let's see, I need to get everyone caught up....

Mom had surgery on her feet on January 12th. Nothing serious, but it required her to be off her feet for three weeks! I went home to take her in and pick her up and spend the first few days waiting on her. I'm probably not the greatest nurse, but she was a pretty good patient. She just returned from an appointment this morning and is now able to wear normal shoes. It will still be a few months before she can run up and down the court, but she is on her way!

I got Brad and Jasmine a webcam for their computer for Christmas. Now, we can talk and SEE each other more often! I couldn't make it up to NY with my mom to see them, but we can now talk over the computer. It's a wonderful gadget! They continue to do well, but will probably stay at least one more year.

Jason and the kids are doing great. The kids continue to make good grades and really enjoyed being out of school THREE days last week due to ice. I keep reminding them that the more they are out now, the more they will have to make up when it's warm, but alas, they can't see that far into the future! I know I was the same way growing up - I would sit by the tv praying that we didn't have school. Too bad UVa doesn't have snow days, too!!

Last night, in the cold rain and snow, Jason had to dig up around our well. We discovered we had a leak because the water pressure had dropped so severely. If anyone has a problem with their well, just call us. I think we are experts now(jk)! Jason is a trooper I tell you! He dug a ditch (with the help of the tractor) about two feet deep to get to the water line below the frost line. That is where the leak was discovered: the fitting between the well casing and water line had a hole rusted through it. Who knows how much water we lost. We are lucky the pump didn't fail on us. Anyway, we didn't get in the house until 9pm. We are now so happy to have our water pressure back.

Well this is just a quick update. I hope you all will keep pestering me to keep this thing updated. I hope everyone is doing well out there!
More to come!
